As mentioned in a previous post, we’ve started the planning of Pagico on iPad. Being extremely excited, we are also a little bit concerned about what to implement and what not to. Simply re-building the entire Pagico desktop version on iPad isn’t a really nice idea, as the iPad platform has different strengths and weaknesses, and users will have different needs, too.
So, we really want to hear from you, to see what you folks really want to see and use on iPad. We’re in the exciting drawing board stage, and your opinions will for sure influence Pagico on iPad in every way. Please feel free to get your ideas to us by either leaving comments here, twitter, or email us.
How about integration with iPhone?
You were talking about it some months ago and i think it would be more useful than
an iPad application because very few have an iPad and a lot of people have an iPhone.
It is still not possible to insert note or task ‘via mobile’ and it would be so useful for people, like me, that need to keep organized while moving around.
If you develop an app for iPad, PLEASE make it a univeral binary that runs on the iPhone also. The lack of an iPhone app is what is keeping me from implementing Pagico in my business. I really need the mobile integration with the desktop client.
I completely agree with the last two points. I’m very eager to use Pagico but can’t rely on it if I can’t get at least some version of it on my iPhone.
Hi all,
First of all, many thanks for your comments! It makes a lot of sense to create an iPhone version first for many reasons. And we’ve been planning to do that for a very long time… I’m sure you know it.
It’s just that the iPhone has such a small screen, and we can only do that much with it in terms of a resource management platform. On the other hand, the screen on the iPad gives us tons of opportunities to create an excellent platform. That’s why we got so excited with it.
Since you’re asking for it, let’s get back to the iPhone for a moment here. What features would you like to see and use in Pagico on iPhone? Will the ability of entering data (into your Inbox) on the iPhone satisfy you? Or is there anything else particular that you want?
Being able to see everything (projects, contacts, etc) on the iPhone might be a little bit too heavy for such a small device.
For me, a few things would be important. First, I’d need to be able to at least see something about the tasks for the day. Second, an ability to enter data would be very handy. I’m not a big user of contacts, so that information would be less critical for me, but I imagine some other users would differ… For me, seeing all my projects on the iPhone would be less critical since I’d rarely need so much information while on the go.
I also need few things.
The most important: insert data for the inbox. when i’m “on the road” i don’t have time to plan and organize i just need to save tasks, notes (maybe photos?) on the go. When i’m at my MacBook i do the big job with projects, tasks, etc…
It would be useful also to see the Today tasks and maybe the Dashboard
No need to manage projects, contacts, collection, etc…
I suppose the very first thing should be integration with Address Book and maybe add a cocoa-like toolbar..
I would concur with a slim downed inbox interface. To be honest though I think Cloud Sync would be more important to Android phones could work through a web browser….along with GCal sync
Hi Ryo,
I was looking around for a good GTD apps. Those without iPhone app are not evaluated. And I guess that applies for a lot of us.
We need only the basic functionality:
1) add Tasks to inbox
2) see the dashboard
3) see the might do or must do list, and the ability to check the box
That is all. So don’t stress with a full blown version.
With Metta,
Long
Hey,
I think that it’s very important that this be able to love sync.

I would like to see more graphical manipulation of the data entry. For example it would be nice to be able to pinch and slide the beginning and due dates in the timeline view, including arranging the elements by dragging after they have been entered. One might assign a task some number of days to complete without deciding on the exact dates until all of the list is visible in the dashboard. Then simply changing the order and start dates by sliding around the time bar. This should be in the desktop versions as well and could be implemented by option_dragging or some other hot key combo. On the iPad it could be holding down a button while dragging with the other finger.
In addition to the Dashboard I would like to see the Projects on the iPad. I guess, we all use Pagico a little differently. Projects is where I live.
Also, any estimate when to expect the iPad version would be great.
Thank you.
The things that really sets Pagico apart from other productivity apps for me are the Contacts management and the timeline dashboard. Both items would be a must have as they would differentiate Pagico from the multitude of other to do apps for the iPad. Syncing with the iPhone would be a nice to have but syncing with the desktop version would be more important for me.
Love to hear your thoughts on when it might be ready
I’ve been using evernote for the mobile stuff and now also on the Ipad. For me it solves some of my immediate problems but I really could use pagico on my mobile devices. On the the phone(saying here I use blackberry – but could consider an iphone) solution could be very simple – showing tasks(I dont need the dashboard for that), being able to change notes and task(deadlines, completed? and add new notes/items aswell – this could very well be only on the inbox and then being able to rearrange them and an additional option would be to forward the task to another user (of pagico obviously).
On the ipad I would be a bit more demanding – and require the same options as I have today(here i used the dashboard for planning on the mac platform – obviously with the sync to work – if that is over the cloud or thru a dropbox(or similar) integration doesn’t matter to me – as long as the database is up to date on all my machines.
How is it going – have you gotten some ideas/concepts which you are working with in respect to this – I am really excited here
Tnx
Any news about pagico for mobile devices?
