Hey folks, this is a quick-fix release for the previous release: 3.2.1.86, fixing a few minor glitches as well as slightly optimized user interface.

Here’s what has been changed:

  • UPDATED:Fixed another bug in date format recognition, when using d/m/y as default date format
  • UPDATED:Fixed a bug that caused line-breaks missing in QuickNotes and Activities
  • Re-ordered control icons for list items
  • Fixed a bug that caused date format options not being saved correctly
  • Improved user interface for adding new content to topics
  • Simplified user interface in new topics

Just go ahead and download Pagico 3.2.1.86 for Mac, or for Windows.

Known Issues in Pagico 3.2 (beta)
However, there are still small glitches for Pagico 3.2 beta right now. Most of them are Windows only, all of them will be addressed shortly.

#1: On Windows, not being able to type “enter” or “return” in text editor
Temporary Workaround
1. Make sure you click in the editor, so you can start writing stuff.
2. Use your mouse to click on the “Bold” icon in the toolbar, and click it again.
Now your text should be changed back to what it was, but now you’re able to create new lines by pressing the “return” or “enter” key on your keyboard.

#2: On Windows, Ctrl+Drag feature for inserting file links is missing.
Temporary Workaround
Create a shortcut of the file, then drag that file into Pagico.

#3: On Windows, upgrading your database from v2.x to v3.2 might (very unlikely but possible) result in a loss of activities in contact profiles.
Temporary Workaround
No workaround yet. Just make sure you back up your database before upgrading to v3.2.

#4: On Windows, unable to print / export pdf files on Windows.
Temporary Workaround
No workaround yet. The feature will be added shortly.

  1. Meng, great update!
Pagico is getting more usable and fast and I love it.

As usual I give you my observations:
    1. The small widget to edit the task from the dashboard is very nice. What I miss in the widget is a small calendar to enter the dates, since entering the day number is quite tricky: easy if you have to add one or 2 days, harder if you have to move a task to the next week. The small calendar could really be a nice add-on.
    2. A problem I had even on the previous version, if I enter a task under a contact, the first time I just enter one date, if later I want to edit it I have to enter 2 different dates, start and finish. I like very much entering just one date, if the task as to be accomplished just that day. Whis lead to the 3rd comment…
    3. You offer two different date management ways: the “expert one” where I have to specify the start and finish date, and the “simple one” where I just enter the finish date and Pagico set the starting date on today. Well, I’m in the middle. My most common tasks take just one day and have to be done just that day, the day I set as finish. I guess you should add a setting to let the user decide, when he add a task, how many days before this the starting date should be set.
I think it’s quite different between people how much they need to see the task before it happens, and how much they love to see a stuffed timeline (when the task starts on today) where you cannot understand what come first and what comes later. Hope that’s clear.

Anyway, great job Meng! Pagico is until now the best I found in personal task and informations management.

  2. Hi Meng

Thanks for the updates. Yay, I now have line breaks in Quick Notes and Activities and my English date format works!

Thanks for the status report on the rest too … I know you must be working very hard!

I also look forward to having the ability to add Quick Notes as in V2 but I think that could wait for a further release!

    Cheers

  3. Hi Enrico:

Regarding to entering dates faster, have you tried the “faster” way of writing dates? Such as “next tuesday”, etc? Just in case you need more on the topic, here’s the full article: http://www.pagico.com/blog/more-powerful-easier-ways-to-set-up-due-dates.html

I’ll definitely consider your other 2 points. Thanks for the info!!

    Hi Sapphie:
Great to know that date format is working! You know, we had to write a whole new date parse function to adopt that date format, as the native one doesn’t really handle this new date format. :)

Yep, the “QuickNotes anywhere” will be there. Thanks!

  4. Here’s another idea for you.

I have a task that was due on 25th September. Whilst the task is listed in the dashboard view, I can’t see the ‘red bar’ because it’s gone off the left hand side of the time view. Whilst it *is* also listed as overdue in the Tasks on the left, could you also perhaps make the text for the name of such tasks go red in the dashboard view?

    What do you think?

  5. Hi Meng

re the ENTER problem on Windows, the good news is that if I copy and paste text with several lines into a notes field, the line breaks do stay ok and it looks good.

On another note, when doing the trick to actually enter a line break, it does so but the gap between the lines is much greater than the gap we get when pasting multiline text in.

  6. Hi meng,
the faster way to enter dates is very nice, and I knew about it, but if your doing some “hardcore project management “you’ve got to have a monthly view of the days to decide when a task should be accomplished. It’s very important since it let me evaluate the weekends and the time before project ends. Maybe it’s not a common use, but entering the date with numbers force me to open iCal or any agenda to check the date to input or… go to each single topic, as before the update, to have a good monthly view.

  7. Hi Meng,

This isn’t a bug, but a feature that would be super handy. Would it be possible to move list items between lists? Sometimes I would like to reorganize my lists, create new lists and copy items from the old list over. It would be nice if there was an easy way to copy the entire list item (title, description, dates) to the new list.
