UPDATEDx3: Pagico 3.2.1.93 (beta) for Windows is now released!
Hi folks, we’re very excited to announce that the Pagico 3.2.1.90 3.2.1.93 (beta) is now released, for Windows 
. After working around the clock in the past week, we’ve added necessary features, and sorted out tons of glitches and bugs for the Windows edition.
For those who are anxious to try out the new one, simply click here to download Pagico 3.2.1.92 (beta) for Windows (45MB).
So now we could probably say, that the Windows edition is almost as good as the Mac edition! Here is a more detailed change list:
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.93: Attempted to fix the bug that caused MobileNote feature not able to activate
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.93: Fixed the “line-break” compatibility bug which caused some line breaks in text paragraphs disappeared after upgrading to 3.2.1.x
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.92: Fixed several bugs in the text editor
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.92: Fixed a bug that prevents Pagico on Windows from retrieving information from our servers
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.92: Fixed a UI glitch in the activation process
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.92: Fixed a UI glitch regarding to creating new items in a blank topic on slower PCs
- UPDATED - Pagico 3.2.1.91: Fixed a bug that keeps re-opening the last opened file attachments when navigating in the software
- Fixed a bug that file attachments in search results can not be opened
- Fixed a bug that file file attachments and images on Windows can not be opened
- Added the missing feature of linking (shortcut) to files in topics using Ctrl+Drag
- Fixed a bug that in startup window the user manual and Pagico website can not be opened
- Added the Navigation menu bar
- Added keyboard shortcuts for navigating in different sections
- Fixed a bug that on Windows Vista Pagico may have problems creating and opening databases
- Tested on Windows XP (32-bit) and Vista (32-bit)
The bigger change, behind the scene
Among the version history, the biggest change is that we totally rewrote the Windows client code (and that’s also why this time the installer is this fat 
), and switched the underneath web engine with a more powerful, and flexible one, which takes less RAM when running, and is faster and easier to configure. As some of you might know, that Pagico on Windows used to bundle an Apache httpd server, and now we don’t need that any more, thanks to the Abyss Web Server!
If you want me to put this in plain english, then this change will cause Pagico to run faster, and use less resource on your computer.
Before upgrading from previous 3.2 to this 3.2.1 on Windows
Before upgrading, I highly recommend you uninstall the previous version using the uninstaller application (Start -> Programs -> Pagico -> Uninstall Pagico). If you’re upgrading from 2.x to 3.2.1, please don’t uninstall before install.
To get started, please go ahead and Download Pagico 3.2.1.93 (beta) for Windows (45MB).
So where’s the updated Mac version?
Sorry mate, this release is just for windows, and there is nothing new on the Mac side (duh), so we decide to save our lovely mac users some time.

Well done!
Have installed and initial comments:
Seems much faster
Navigation menu back
Text edit boxes now allow new lines
Can now drag shortcuts to docs
Ctrl-1 etc now work
Super, hooray!
Now for the negatives (!)
I still can’t get MobileNote to activate
The Print option is a little flaky, no scroll bar on the print window, so can’t easily see the contents.
Also, still no print to PDF
But, hey, you will get there!
I would love to be able to use MobileNote though …

One bug:
I clicked on a link in one of my Data pages that took me to a web site. That worked fine.
Now, when in the Contacts index page, if I click on a contact name the contact page opens ok but it also opens that most recently visited web page again in my web browser.
If I close Pagico and restart it is ok again but the error is repeatable.

I just made a quick release addressing the “re-open file attachments” issue you mentioned. That one is just super annoying, isn’t it?
About the MobileNote feature, it will be fixed very soon, as that is the issue #1 for Pagico on Windows now.

Ok, downloaded and fixed. Well done.
2 other comments:
(a) When I close and restart Pagico, it doesn’t remember the previosu window state, eg if I had it maximised before, it doesn’t re-open maximised. Minor point I know.
(b) I’m curious about the paste options in the notes editor: We have
Paste
Paste as Plain text
Paste from Word
I think I know what the differences are, I assume the ‘Word’ option pulls in formatting?
Also, if I copy and past some lines from, say, a plain text email, the line spacing is ’single spacing’, whereas if I type into the notes window and press the enter key, I seem to get ‘double line spacing’ or similar. Not wanting to annoy you now that you have fixed the ENTER key problem but is it possible to type in an ENTER and keep the text as single line spacing?
I hope you see what I mean but I don’t want to distract you from fixing the MobileNote problem!

I just (yet again) made a quick release, addressing the issues you mentioned.
To answer your questions, regarding to the “paste, as plain text, and as word”:
The “paste” feature will try to maintain the format information, but if it can’t then it’ll be just plain text. The “Plain Text” option allows you to *just* paste the text without any format; while the paste from Word option works the best when you’re trying to copy and paste from Microsoft Word — it will maintain most of the format in good shape.
Also, please try out the latest release when you have time, and let me know whether the MobileNote has worked for you or not.

Well, I got excited but I am still not able to activate MobileNote - the little graphic keeps going round and nothing else happens. I have my XP machine up to the latest patches and I rebooted but still no avail …

Well that’s weird. Because we have tested this feature on both XP and Vista. So what “little graphic” thing you were referring to?
Also, were you unable to activate this feature, or unable to retrieve anything after successfully activating it?

Just emailed you! Once I tick the ‘Activate’ box in the preferences I see a little ‘working’ type animated logo, looks a bit like the hand of a clock going round very fast and then nothing happens. I am supposed to see an email address appear right? So it looks like the activation isn’t working for me.
Is there any log file that can be generated to help debug?

That looks good however I’m still not able to record Activities. Do you know when this will be fixed?
Also I’ve noticed listing the Archives that it only shows part of the record archived, for example if you left a long note, it will keep the beginning of the sentence. Any way to get the full content?

Nope there isn’t a way to generate a log or something, but I’ve got your email, and I see the problem. Looking into it now. It shouldn’t be a big deal, so it won’t be too long to fix it (hopefully). By the way, do you happen to have any sort of firewall system that could block the communication between Pagico and the internet? Could you turn off your firewall *temporarily* and try activating the MobileNote (don’t forget to turn the firewall back on)? Thanks!

I’ve tried to look into the issue you had, however, that issue seems to be happened during the upgrade conversion. Is there any way that you could send your database over to me, after duplicating and removing any sensitive (or even all) data in it?
Or, do you still have the backup database before upgrading to v3.2?

Is this new version being tested on Vista x64? It used to work in Vista x64 but not anymore in this upgrade, when I start Pagico it shows a page error (likes the web server isn’t running properly)
Besides, when would it be able to activate through a proxy? My PC in office is behind company proxy and I have no way to activate Pagico.

I have uninstalled and re-installed. previously I think I was entering my main Pagico activation code where I should have been putting my email address at startup but this time I put my email address and was then prompted for my main activation code, which all worked ok.
I then went to activate MobileNote. This time it does something different - it says ‘You’ll have to be online to operate this feature.’
Well, I am on line! Also, I have added ports 1200 and 1201 to my firewall exceptions but clearly this hasn’t helped!

Thanks for your update. Vista x64 is not my main working platform so it’s not my major concern (just my home was using Vista x64 so I run Pagico as a test only)
Besides, for the activation issue, I have been able to activate using proxifier to bypass company proxy, it might be a temporarily workaround for those who work behind a proxy like me.
Thanks for your great effort, Pagico is getting better and better now.
