Pagico for Desktop 6.8: Big improvements in a minor update (UPDATEDx2)

We’re excited to announce the availability of Pagico for Desktop v6.8 (revision 1621) for Mac, Windows (Ubuntu version to come very soon) AND Ubuntu. As a minor update, v6.8 is free for all existing v6 users. But this isn’t just any minor update — it comes with a few quite important enhancements which we’re sure you’ll enjoy.

Update 2: A bug-fix release (r1622) Another bug-fix release (r1623) has been published to correct a small but nasty bug preventing you from importing files to tasks & notes.

What’s new in Pagico for Desktop 6.8

Task with Files

Need to set up a follow-up task on an email message or a PDF document? Previously, you had to import the email or file first, then create a new task. THEN create a link between the file and the task. That certainly wasn’t ideal! But in version 6.8, you can achieve this by simply bringing up the New Task panel (keyboard shortcut Cmd+T) and dropping in the email or file. It’s that easy!

Creating tasks with files or emails will be easier than ever in Pagico for Desktop 6.8

And that’s not all. In order to reduce visual clutter, the imported file(s) will be hidden by default. So the outcome will be just a task with a link pointing to the file attachment. Clean and easy.

Improved Description Fields for Tasks

Improved Notes Section for Tasks and List Items

Do you write lots of notes for your tasks or list items? Then you’ll definitely love this improvement. Starting from the v6.8, the list item description field will look much better, and will grow automatically based on the amount of notes you have. Just one of those little things that will make the note-taking experience a lot better.

Improved Update Checking

Improved Update-Checking Ability This is something that a lot of users have requested. So with this new menu item, you can check for updates at any time you want. Pagico will quickly communicate with our server and let you know if there’s an update or not. It will automatically check for updates upon launch (you can disable this in the Preferences), or you can do so at any time you want.

Other improvements

  • Greatly improved cross-link handling with broken-link detection
  • Improved compatibility with MailTags message links
  • Improved link and email address recognition in notes and tasks
  • And lots of other minor UI refinements and bug fixes.

Updating

Along with a number of small refinements, Pagico for Desktop 6.8 is going to be quite a big minor update. Updating is easy as usual — just head to the Download Page, get it and install over your existing installation.

We’re very excited about this update, and we hope you’ll like the improvements as much as we do.

Enjoy!
