Hi all,

This new release (revision 859) is just another bug-fix release of the Pagico v4.0 BETA. It addresses a few minor issues with no improvements on features. However, its biggest point would be its availability on Ubuntu 9.04. Therefore this update is recommended but not necessary if you’re not on Ubuntu.

Here’s the change list:

  • Fixed several issues in the visual text editor for notes
  • Minor tweaks in the dashboard schedule flowchart
  • Enhanced performance when switching among topics / profiles
  • URLs without protocol prefix (e.g. http://) are now recognized properly
  • Updated “New Task” menu item (it now allows creating tasks in anywhere, not just in Inbox)
  • Folders can be imported on Ubuntu
  • Minor bug fixes in the user interface

To get started, simply go ahead, download and install.

:)

  1. Hi, I finally succeeded in importing VCF-Format. Apple Adress book allows two format-versions of vcf 2.1 and 3.0. In the preferences there has to be chosen 2.1. Now it seems to work. Except, its sometimes strange which data is imported into Pagico and which is not. The text paragraph template seems to work fine now. The data picker recognizes URLs without protocoll as You described. But if I have the Information in the contact info it still recommends “http://”. Working with the program becomes better and better. Regards Joachim

  2. Hi Joachim,
I’m glad that things are working out on your side! :-)

  3. Hi Meng,
    here are three further remarks.
    1) The text paragraph template isn’t stble yet. Sometimes (I can’t recognize what’s the reason) its still destroyed
    2) It woulld be nice if links I type myself (maybe a name in a list to its contact information) would be marked as a link after saving. Just like it was in version 3.
3)If I begin a text paragraph with a number (for example “3 Stunden”) it changes not only to a link but also the number changes to a “•” (list dot). Regards

  4. @Joachim,

    1) I do know that the text editor (although largely improved) is not bullet-proof yet, so we’re running extensive tests on that and will fix anything we spot.
    2) What do you mean by “typing links”? Are you referring to web links or internal, inline links to other topic / profiles? As far as I know currently nothing has changed in terms of inline links and web links compared to v3.
    3) This behavior is caused by the Data Detector. But I think I’ll fix it by keeping the number in our upcoming release build.

    Thanks!

  5. @Meng,
sorry, I meant inline links. If I remember right, in V3 they could be recognized as links. Now they are normal text and can be recognized only by mouse over. Thanks and regards

  6. That should be considered as a bug. I’m working on it. If I can re-produce it I’ll fix it right away. Sounds like an easy-fix. :-)

    Thanks!

  7. Pagcio helper needs more love.
Atleast shortcut to bring it up in windows

  8. Hi Meng, seems that there is a limitation of file-name-length for external and internal files. Files with longer names can’t be found in the database, though there are in the database-package. Can you tell me what the length is, so I can name the files I want to handle with pagico in the right way? Thanks and regards.

  9. @Mark,
Yep, thanks for the advice. Global hotkey will be added soon.

    @Joachim,
We did not design any type of limitation on the length of the file names. It must be some process in the file saving process truncated the filename. I’ll investigate this and get back to you asap.

    Thanks for mentioning this!
    :)

  10. Pagico helper still doesn’t support Polish letters. It turns them into “?”

  11. @Kaaan,

Yep, I am aware of that (haven’t worked on it yet), and it’ll be fixed very soon.

    Thanks!

  12. Can you see if you can get the tasks in Pagico to import as tasks into ical? Right now they just show up as all day events. Also, in pagico how can I put a time with the date for a meeting for instance?
    Thanks!

  13. @Andreas,

I’ll see if I can change the all day event into tasks in iCal. ;-)
And yes, you can surely set a specific time for tasks in Pagico. For more on this, please visit:

    Hope this helps!
    Thanks!
