Folks,
Today we’re excited to let you know that a new update to Pagico v5 is now available for Mac and Windows! This Pagico v5.2 (revision 1227 1228) is another minor update to v5 and addresses a number of minor issues and improves user experiences.
So, what’s new?
- r1228: Addressed a bug that may cause blank screen issue on Windows XP
- r1228: Workspace-related bug fixes
- r1228: Improved user experiences with the Workspaces feature
- Addressed a bug on Windows that in some cases Pagico cannot be launched
- Addressed a Workspace-related bug that workspace syncs some times may block file imports
- Addressed a bug that in some rare cases deleted projects may cause infinite sync loops
- Re-introduced keyboard shortcut to quickly save list items using Ctrl+Enter
- Pagico on Mac now remembers the toolbars status (hidden or visible)
- Changed the new-tasks default (created from popup panel) to one-day tasks when Start Date is not specified
- When performing complex activities, the black popup panel will prevent duplicated requests
- Fixed a UI issue that dates some times are shown incorrectly
- Fix the bug that moving list items from one list to another in a shared project may cause data loss
- Fixed a UI issue so that dragging a list item to an empty list is now possible
- Fixed a bug that moving items away from the Inbox did not trigger cloud sync
- Optimized the Move file action
- Other minor UI-related corrections
As always, updating is very simple. Simply head over to the Download Section and grab it. There’s no need to uninstall the older version prior to the upgrade. But backing up your databases is always very important, and highly recommended.
Cheers,
Ryo
Does this fix the issue in Windows where the app sends messages back to the Pagico server over and over again? My office has now blocked service.pagico.com at the proxy because it was hitting it over 1000 times per day.
Dave,
Have you sent us an email about this issue before? This update does fix one issue that might cause excessive syncs, but I’m not sure if it’s the same one that caused it on your end. It would be great if you could try it out (unblock the web address and see if the issue persists or not). And if so, please do send me an email so I can look into it.
Thank you!
Ryo
Does this update fixes the problem with non-english letters? Right now files with non-english symbols are deleted by Pagico.
Ryo, is there a way for me to check how often service.pagico.com is being hit? I don’t have access to the proxy logs here. I’d like to re-enable it, and check somewhere from inside the application to see how often the service is being invoked. Ideally, it would be a push service that only updated when data changed.
Thanks, David.
David,
There’s no easy way to keep track of the number of communication between the client and server on your end. However, what you can do is here:
1) Update to the latest version of your desktop Pagico app;
2) Re-enable the traffic to service.pagico.com;
3) See the sync activity from the sync status icon (lower left corner of the app)
Previously we had some issues that caused “infinite syncs”, which could generate the endless traffic. If everything goes correctly with the new version, you shouldn’t be seeing that much traffic any more. But please keep me posted.
Thanks!
Ryo
