As we all know the exciting new Ubuntu 9.04 has been released several days ago. With tons of great new improvements, we believe the majority Ubuntu desktop users would upgrade.

So, is our Pagico ready for it yet?

As you might notice that Ubuntu releases major updates pretty frequently — averagely once every year or even less than a year. And with the introduction of each major release, there are a number of substantial change under the hood, breaking the compatibility of many applications. That’s why for Ubuntu systems, we have one package for 8.04 and one for 8.10. And this 9.04 is no exception, too.

After some brief tests, we found out that the Pagico for 8.10 package does NOT work on the new 9.04, although the installation went flawless.

Right now we’ve located the issue (which is an easy fix), and we’re in the process of producing a new release for it. Hopefully we can deliver the new package for 9.04 during this weekend.

Update: Pagico seems to break only on 9.04 fresh installs
On our test machines that were upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04, Pagico works well. But it breaks on those machines with fresh 9.04 installations.

  1. I’m running Ubuntu 9.04, upgraded from 8.10 and it’s broken for me too:

btw. willing to test an updated version. Just email it to me and I’ll test it.

  2. Hi That80sGuy,

Many thanks for the log info, it’s greatly appreciated! And just to let you know, we’re working on it. We’re looking forward to an official release for 9.04 within this week.

    Stay tuned! :)
