Pagico 8.0 Beta 1 (rev. 1994)

Pagico 8.0 Beta 1 (rev. 1994) is now available for OS X and Windows. As the first beta of Pagico 8.0, revision 1994 brings the following improvements:

New Features

  • Brand-new list view with keyboard and bulk action support
  • Containers (projects and contacts) now also support keyboard actions and bulk actions
  • Selective print — select any number of data objects and print
  • In-Container Quick Navigation bar that lets you jump to any data object with ease
  • In-Container filters let you see things by tags
  • Enhanced context menu actions
  • Dedicated Location field for tasks
  • New Subtitle/notes field for projects
  • Brand-new Link Helper / Move-to panel with better keyboard support and on-the-fly container creation
  • Brand-new Database Password screen
  • Built-in notification for task reminders

General Improvements

  • Refreshed UI design
  • Flowcharts now show the color selections of containers
  • Flowcharts in the 6-week view mode will always start with the beginning of a week
  • Flowchart view in containers are now fully interactive, and moved to a dedicated panel
  • Crosslinks to containers now show the color selections as well
  • Enhanced text auto-complete for writing tags and container crosslinks
  • Timestamps now update in realtime
  • Enhanced tag tracking and management (tags used in notes, tasks, and files will also be remembered for text auto-complete)
  • Simplified task entry
  • You can now choose to create a checklist or a task inside a container
  • Integrated “Mentions” section for inbound linked items
  • Improved compatibility with 3rd party data sync apps (by reducing the number of file writes to databases)
  • Intelligent Add-New button in the toolbar that offers the appropriate action based on your location in Pagico
  • Improved the reliability of container duplication process
  • Consolidated list item actions to context menu for cleaner UI and better user experience
  • Enhanced Save-To selection in the popup panel for better user experience
  • Re-arranged and enhanced Quick Jump-To in the Today view
  • Enhanced link recognition in text notes and lists
  • Improved NLP algorithm for better and smarter date recognition
  • Pagico will automatically re-open the previously used database after software update
  • Custom contact groups can now be deleted (ungrouped) using context menu actions
  • All the popup panel buttons are now labeled
  • The alarm panel will automatically popup after setting a date/time in a task
  • In the Today view, items with links or attachments will be identified with a clipper icon
  • Simplified data display inside containers
  • Long-term tasks due on the current day will be highlighted with a different color
  • All-day event reminders are now fired at 9AM on the day of event, instead of at midnight
  • When an archived task is unchecked, the task is unarchived automatically
  • Bug fixes

Workspace-Related Improvements

  • Improved the sync reliability with containers being shared in multiple workspaces
  • Improved Workspace participants list that consolidates devices from the same user
  • The “Myself” contact is now tied to users (Pagico ID accounts) instead of individual devices/databases.

Known Issues & Limitations

  • The in-app contextual help panels have not been updated.
  • Bulk export is not enabled
  • The Print feature on Windows produces poor quality outputs
  • The Windows client does not performance as fast as the Mac version

Upcoming Features

Some features are still being tested internally, and they will be included in subsequent beta releases in the near future.

Pagico 8.0 Beta 1 (rev1994) is now available for macOS (10.7+) and Windows (7+). The download links are included in the beta release announcement email.
