What's "Pagico"?
"Pagico" is the flagship software product of our company, and "CodeX" was its former name.
Pagico is the only organizer you'll ever need, for your data and contacts.
What technology does Pagico use?
Pagico is built with Web 2.0 technology, that's why it has such a beautiful yet friendly user interface.
Will Pagico interfere my existing web server?
No. We have just refined the mac installer so it won't interfere your existing web configurations. And no, windows users don't have to worry about this as well.
Do I have to install and configure Pagico manually?
No, you don't have to. We've built an installer that will perform the installation automatically.
What is the advantage of using Pagico over using various shareware applications that may do similar things?
Unlike a collection of disparate utilities with its own interface and features, Pagico integrates them all together, so that you can see all related contacts and schedule events when you are working on a specific topic(topic), and also you can see which contact is more important to you(involved in more topics and schedule events).
Therefore, Pagico does more than those.
How do I uninstall Pagico?
Well, uninstalling Pagico is quite simple.
For windows, simply use the uninstaller. For mac users, simply trash the Pagico folders(2 in all, one is under your "Applications", the other is right in your main hd.).
Please note: Uninstalling Pagico will remove the data within Pagico as well.
I have my contacts in "Address Book". Can I import them?
Sure. In addition to import your contacts in your "Address Book", simply drag the contacts in to Pagico window.
Can I use Pagico without an internet connection?
Yes. But Pagico requires to be activated(online) upon installation. After the activation, you can use Pagico whenever you want, without a network connection.
Can I backup / restore my Pagico?
Sure. Details about backing up and restoring are described in the user manual bundled with your software.
Can I access Pagico from another computer(say, your Pagico is installed in your office but you are in a classroom)?
Yes, you can access your Pagico over network via a modern web browser. It's that easy. Details about accessing over a network are mentioned in the user manual bundled in the software.
But keep in mind that accessing over a network will let Pagico run in a "limited mode", so advanced features like "drag-and-drop files" won't work.
Can I install 2 Pagico on my computer?
Sorry you can not. In that case, we suggest that you installing a 2-user license that allows two standalone user accounts in your Pagico at one time.
This type of license is not available at this time, and it should be available before May 2007.
Run Pagico behind a company proxy?
Currently Pagico itself doesn't support proxies. So you won't be able to activate it behind a proxy. We're working on it so it won't be long.
For Mac users, you can set proxy settings in the "Network" section from your System Preference.
Linux'ers: Will there be a Pagico for *nix?
Yes! The first release would be made for Ubuntu systems (for both 32bit and 64bit systems). Currently we're final testing Pagico on Ubuntu, and we're waiting for the rlease of Ubuntu 7.10 in order to test on it.
However we still can not provide an exact timeframe for the final release of Pagico on Ubuntu. It really depends on how our tests are going.
So, stay tuned, and come back later. We'll post important things in our blog.
Mac users: Why does Pagico ask me for administrator password?
Don't worry. Pagico asks the password to activate the web service only when it is not activated already.
On some macs, web services are not started automatically after computer startup.
Is there a "Calendar" in Pagico? Or, how does Pagico manage schedules?
Pagico manages your schedule in a much different way. You can set date info to activities and tasks, and browse them in task lists and activity list.
But we provide you a much flexible way for you to manage them: browse them in your favorite calendar program.
All .iCal compatible calendar program can read the schedule data from Pagico, without a hassle.
What do you mean by ".iCal Compatible"? How can I use it?
".iCal"(iCalendar) is an unique file format for calendars. Most mainstream calendar program support it, so users can transfer calendar among them without having to enter time and time again.
Pagico exports your schedule info in .iCal format, so all the .iCal compatible programs can read it.
iCal-Compatible Calendar programs on Windows: Sunbird, Lightning, Microsoft Works(v8+), Zimbra and WinDates.
iCal-Compatible Calendar programs on Linux: Novell Evolution, KOrganizer, Kronolith and of course, Sunbird, Lightning.
Can I delete files on my computer after adding to Pagico?
Sure. When added to Pagico, your file is copied to the database of Pagico. So it's safe for you to delete the file in your file manager.
How do I share my topics with non-Pagico users?
You can export any of your topics into a universal document that can be opened on all computers(including ones running Windows, Mac, Linux, etc).
And, you can choose the look of your exported document from the 8 attached elegant themes designed by professionals.
Can I upgrade my Pagico 2 to Pagico 3 without losing data?
Absolutely. Your data will be upgraded when upgrading to Pagico 3. But do NOT roll back to previous versions of Pagico software.
Pagico 3 uses independent database documents to store your data, while previous versions use built-in database. So, after upgrade, your data will be migrated to an independent database document called "Default.pgco".
The "Default.pgco" file can be located under your "Applications" folder (for Macs), or "C:\Program Files\Pagico" folder (for Windows).
How can I use my Pagico data on both my desktop and laptop computers?
Yes. Pagico 3 uses independent database files instead of built-in database, so you can store your database file on your thumbdrive (or other external storage), then use the same database file on any of your computers with Pagico 3 installed.
We also have a special offer for you to buy an additional license for just $20.
Will there be Pagico 3 for all three platforms: Windows, Mac and Linux?
Yes, but not now. The first release would be a Mac version, then followed by the Windows version. After that is the Linux version.
The database document will be compatible for all the three platforms.
