As a professor, besides tough researches, you have to give lectures and supervise students for their assignments or thesis. Sometimes the situation turns complicated especially when you have several students to follow up. You need to keep yourself clear about what to do with specific student. However, Pagico brings you the key to focus your energy without letting things fall through the cracks.
This article shows how to use Pagico effectively in managing students.
First, create specific contact for your students in “Relations”, say, Tom. The contact contains two section, contact info shown from the side bar and profile in the main screen.
Then, fill in the contact form with basic but important information, e.g. email, telephone and special notes etc.
Hint: You can just drag vCard files to Pagico to create profiles quickly.
e.g. Drag contacts from “Address Book” to Pagico, if you’re using a Mac.
In contact profile, you are allowed to add tasks and log activities. That’s the point!
For example, “Check Tom’s thesis report, May 10th 2007″ (task related to Tom) or “Send me draft version of the report, May 5th 2007″ (deadline of Tom’s assignment).
For example, you can record your discussion about the experiment, summary of each meeting or your remark according to Tom’s performance.
It’s absolutely useful to tag important activities! Add subject or remark to an activity in terms of tags. For example, report or experiment according to subject, or good or bad according to Tom’s performance etc.
You can find a special section “Statistics” included in each contact profile. Statistics shows you how activities distribute by taking tags into account. Although no confirmed conclusion can be drawn, results shown from statistics can help you make judgement to some degree.
